One of the ways that New York Works for Children works to provide early childhood professionals with access to high quality education and training opportunities is to ensure that professional development is provided by qualified professionals. To this end, we partner with the New York Association for the Education of Young Children (NYAEYC) who administer the Training and Technical Assistance Professional Credential (T-TAP). The coaching designation launched in 2017 after a statewide, collaborative effort to define the knowledge and skills required for this important work. The T-TAP coaching credential is aligned with the New York State Coaching Competencies.
Formerly known as the Early Learning Trainer Credential, this endorsement from the NYAEYC is available with designations for in-person group professional development as well as coaching.
Just because you provide training doesn’t mean that you cannot benefit from professional development yourself! It has been our pleasure to work with trainers from across the state and learn more about your needs. This series examines the beliefs, content and organization of the Core Body of Knowledge (CBK) developed by New York Works for Children (NYWFC) and how it relates to professional development.
